Dead Block Coilers or Continuos Coiler are used for taking up wire and are placed behind the wire processing lines. The wire is coiled up on baskets. The speeds are automatically adjusted to the machines placed in front.
Coiling capstan dia 300 – 900 mm Ø
Wires 0,9 – 8,0 mm
• For low, medium, high carbon or stainless steel wire
• Horizontal or vertical axis capstan setup
• Tilted turntable or elevator type pattern laying system
• wide range of wire diameters
• bigger coil weight
The stationary capstan take-up frames are typically used to take-up annealed and galvanized low carbon wire, patented and phosphated or galvanized high carbon wire and annealed stainless steel.
This system can also be utilized to take-up hard drawn low and high carbon wire.
The machine frame consists of sections of heavy duty fabricated construction bolted together. The sections are supported by robust steel structures.
The upper side of the frame, completely covered with steel plates and provided with handrails, forms a convenient platform for stringing-up and maintenance purposes.
The capstans are normally manufactured of special steel and are hardened at the wire line surface. The capstans are on vertical axis and bolted to the frame.
The winding arms are of heavy duty solid steel plate providing a secure mounting for the guide sheaves and the straighteners. All guide sheaves and straighteners are adjustable for wire casting purposes.
Each winding arm can be operated individually and is driven, through a toothed belt and pulleys, by an AC geared motor with frequency inverter
The main advantage of this type of take-up, is the possibility to obtain pattern laid coils. This is achieved by rotating at very low speed an inclined turntable, carrying the carrier. The pattern laid package produces significantly increased coil weights and reduces snarls in the subsequent pay-off process.
They are equipped with a double straightening unit and can be supplied in various sizes starting from 300 mm in diameter up to 760 mm. The capstan can either be V groove or flat type depending on the application. The stationary versions are equipped with accumulation arms and with a motorized trolley. The trolley can be operated pneumatically to extract the coil from under the flyer.
These can also be supplied in double deck arrangements such as 350/550 and 400/600.
.
The rotating capstan take-up frames are typically used to take-up hard drawn and galvanized low or high carbon wire, large diameter annealed and galvanized low carbon or patented high carbon wire, annealed stainless steel wire with drawing possibility and oil tempered wire.
The use of a rotating capstan take-up is essential under one or more of the following conditions:
Large wire diameters, up to 8mm
Tensile strength over 1500 MPa (213 000 psi)
Twist unacceptable in the finished product.
The machine frame consists of sections of heavy duty fabricated construction bolted together. The sections are supported by robust steel structures.
The capstans are normally manufactured of special steel and are hardened at the wire line surface.
Each capstan can be operated individually and is driven, through a toothed belt and pulleys, by an AC geared motor with frequency inverter.
Rotating type take-ups: These rotating coilers are used to produce coils of wire without twist. The coil itself rotates at the same speed of the capstan and winds the wire in the form of a coil. These units are equipped with a special arm that positions the wire wraps in a pattern-laid looking manner and can be supplied with capstan sizes starting from 300 mm up to 760 mm .
Spoolers work in combination with wire drawing machines and are used to take up drawn wires on to rigid or collapsible machine spools according to DIN or customer standards. We offer a comprehensive series of spoolers, in several sizes for various spools and wire ranges. The spool is taken up between two pintles, one is pneumatically operated.( Cantilever arrangement is provided for small spools )
A pneumatic lifting-device with the functions lift, lower is used for the loading and unloading of the spools. This allows a quick and troublefree exchange of spools. Speed control – depending on the wire diameter – is either torque controlled or by means of a dancer unit which is installed between the drawing machine and the spooler.
All spooler functions are actuated from an operating console.
• For low, medium, high carbon or stainless steel wire
• Horizontal or vertical spool axis version
• Pneumatic pintles with safety locking device
• Motorized traverse (optional)
• Manual or pneumatic wire clamps
• Emergency stop with pneumatic brake
• Safety guards
• Easy access for maintenance purposes
The accumulation capstans are typically used to pay-off and take-up, on spools, annealed and galvanized low carbon wire, patented and phosphated or galvanized high carbon wire, hard drawn and galvanized high carbon wire (ACSR), patented and brass coated high carbon wire (Steel Cord), hard drawn and bronze coated high carbon wire (Bead Wire), aluminium-cladded high carbon wire.
The use of accumulation capstan pay-offs and take-ups is essential where a continuous (non stop) process is required during spool change operation.
Zenith accumulation capstans are mounted on a horizontal axis above the correspondent spool in order to minimize floor space or with vertical axis, in case of the larger wire sizes, enabling best capstan accessibility for stringing-up purposes.
The machine frame consists of heavy duty fabricated steel segments, each providing a mounting for spool. The accumulation capstans, arranged on vertical axis, are normally manufactured of forged steel, induction hardened on the wire line. Each capstan is driven by an AC motor with frequency inverter.
The take-off ring is driven by an AC motor with frequency inverter, automatically controlling the number of wire wraps on the capstan during spool change wire accumulation/disaccumulation. The traverse mechanism, driven by the spooling motor, is the belt type with pneumatic clamp. The traverse width is adjustable during spooling operation, by means of knobs, mounted on the front side of each position.
As an option, the width can be controlled by a PLC, adjusting automatically the reverse points.
The spool is driven by an AC motor with frequency inverter. A pneumatic brake prevents the release of wire wraps when the spool is stopped.
The machine is complete with the necessary wire guiding sheaves and rollers.
